MORE DETAILS about the commerical fire alarm system
The Maakri Quarter in Tallinn, Estonia is a modern business and commercial district located in the city’s primary business center. The complex consists of seven commercial buildings that combine contemporary architecture with carefully restored historical structures. With a total area of 36,000 m², the quarter includes high-rise and mid-rise office buildings, retail spaces, and shared public areas. To ensure reliable protection for commerce and visitors, we at Teletek, together with our partners Alarmeco, implemented a modern commercial fire alarm system that provides fast detection and dependable fire safety across the entire complex.

Coordinating protection across an entire commercial quarter
Maakri Quarter includes high-rise and mid-rise office buildings, retail premises and shared public areas. Its combination of new architecture and restored historic structures creates a complex environment that extends beyond the requirements of a single commercial building.
The fire alarm solution therefore needed to provide precise detection across different spaces while maintaining fast and coordinated communication between multiple panels and buildings.
The selected fire alarm solution
Fire alarm control and networking
- 9 Teletek iRIS4 addressable fire alarm panels connected in a network
Automatic fire detection
- 1,513 SensoIRIS S130 addressable optical smoke detectors
- 88 SensoIRIS T110 addressable heat detectors
Manual alarm activation
- 194 SensoIRIS MCP150 addressable manual call points
Monitoring and control
- 28 SensoIRIS MIO22 addressable input-output modules
- 57 SensoIRIS MIO04 addressable relay output modules

Why a networked fire alarm solution was the right fit
Protecting seven buildings through separate, isolated systems would make event supervision and coordination across Maakri Quarter considerably more difficult. By connecting nine iRIS4 panels in a network, the Teletek solution brings the different installations together and provides centralized visibility across the commercial district.
Our Centralized Monitoring functionality enables events to be shared across the network, allowing operators to view information from the wider installation through any connected panel. Individual device identification also provides precise information about the detector, manual call point or module involved in an alarm or fault.
The project presented particularly demanding communication requirements under the Estonian high-rise fire safety standard EVS 812-8:2018. The fire alarm system had to operate together with voice evacuation, with alarm signals and voice messages alternating in 30-second cycles. Communication delays between panels also had to remain within three seconds.
The project demonstrates how Teletek’s networkable iRIS4 panels and compatible SensoIRIS devices can support large multi-building commercial developments where centralized monitoring, rapid communication and coordination with voice evacuation are critical.
