Wireless Fire Alarm Protection for the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church
The Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Sofia, Bulgaria is an important religious and administrative institution. The building accommodates offices, meeting halls, and representative spaces used for official church activities and gatherings. As a historical building, it requires careful protection and minimal intervention in its structure, which makes extensive cabling undesirable. To meet these requirements, we at Teletek, together with our partners from Tekra, installed a modern and reliable wireless fire alarm system that ensures safety while preserving the building’s architectural integrity.

the challenge
Built between 1910 and 1912, the Holy Synod building was designed by Bulgarian architects Petko Momchilov and Yordan Milanov in the National Romanticism style. It includes administrative spaces, meeting areas, a chapel and other premises supporting the work of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
Introducing modern fire protection into a building of this historic and architectural importance requires a careful approach. The solution must provide reliable detection and alarm notification without creating unnecessary intervention in the existing walls, finishes and interior spaces.

Why a wireless fire alarm system was the right fit
Installing extensive new cable routes in a historic building can be difficult, disruptive and potentially damaging to its architectural character. The Natron wireless fire alarm system reduced the need for cabling to individual detectors, manual call points and sounders, allowing modern fire protection to be introduced while limiting intervention in the building’s existing walls, finishes and interior spaces.
Through our cooperation with Tekra, the Holy Synod received a fire alarm solution suited to both the active use and historic importance of the building.
